【上海宜家徐汇店出“先购餐后入座”新规 难挡老年交友一族】Shanghai IKEA has come up against a surprising foe in its attempt to make clients buy and consume food in its dining room – romantic senior citizens. Open to the public freely, the dining area has attracted many seniors who spend an entire day chatting with others, as per a local media report. They bring in food from the outside, occupy the seats throughout the day and are reluctant to pay, said IKEA. In an open letter recently posted in its Xujiahui branch, the company asked clients to buy food before being seated. IKEA also set up guard lines around the previously open dining areas. The elderly daters were not impressed, and refused to give up their habit. They buy a cup of coffee, a piece of bread, and take their seats. One dater said: "The lives of old people are lonely. And we are not rich. Why deprive us of the little fun that we can afford?"
